Intimate MacLaren Arts Centre Elopement

One snowy February afternoon, Emma and Erik gathered with a small group of their closest family at the MacLaren Arts Centre for their elopement. The arched windows and beautiful architecture filled the space with soft natural light, creating a bright and elegant setting for their ceremony. Not to mention the pieces of art that decorated the walls all around.

Before the ceremony, they shared a quiet first look where Erik saw Emma in her wedding dress for the first time. Shortly after, they held a simple and meaningful ceremony, where they exchanged vows and were officially pronounced husband and wife. Following thier ceremony Emma, Erik and their sweet daughter Blakely wandered the art gallery admiring eachother in their ‘just married’ bliss.

One of the most special parts of this day is the surprise that came for them at the end. While I hung back with Emma + Erik to photograph them after the ceremony, their parents had snuck off to the restaurant they were to meet at later on. Little did Emma + Erik know that their parents had planned an entire party with all of their friends and family to celebrate the newlyweds! I had to keep my lips sealed throughout the day because they also didn’t know that I would be there to capture it all for them! Days like this confirm that I am in the right career because I truly feel so honoured to play a role in days like this for some of the sweetest couples I have the pleasure of working with.
